ELLIS – Ellinwood’s Kade Koetter rushed for two touchdowns and quarterback Kyler Doll completed three touchdown passes as the Eagles stunned Ellis 34-13 in Friday’s non-league football game. Ellinwood (2-1) has won two consecutive games after returning to 11-man football.
Koetter scored his first touchdown on fourth down-and-3 behind goal-line blocking by tackle Zeb Hughes, guard Dylan White and center Bryce Baker. Koetter added another 2-yard score. Doll opened the scoring with a 9-yard touchdown pass to Landon Robl and added a 12-yard touchdown strike to Jacob Cole. Ryan Niles scored on an 14-yard touchdown on the game’s final play for a 34-13 score.
Eagle David Hammeke intercepted a pass and recorded eight tackles. Robl and Schwartz recovered Railroader fumbles. Ricker and Koetter each contributed eight tackles.
