ELLINWOOD GIRLS 58, FAIRFIELD 57

LANGDON – Ellinwood’s Maddy Ward scored the game-winning basket and blocked a Fairfield shot to rally the Eagles past Fairfield 58-57 in Friday’s non-league basketball game.

The Eagles (5-3) trailed 56-50, but outscored the Falcons 8-1 in the final minutes. Ward scored two free throws and a basket on Mya Maxwell’s pass. Daphne Doll’s rebound basket forced a 56-56 tie.

After Bailey Bayse scored a free throw, Lauren Petz passed to Ward for the game-winner. Ward blocked an attempt by Jaetyn Conrad to preserve the victory.

LANGDON – Ellinwood’s Brandon Carr scored 16 points to lead three players in double figures as the Eagles roared past Fairfield 68-21 in Friday’s non-league basketball game.

Ellinwood (3-5) placed David Hammeke (14) and Luke Wondra (13) in double figures.
