STERLING —Ellinwood's Drew Heinz birdied No. 18 to shoot 10-over-par 81 to earn third medalist honors at Monday's Sterling Golf Invitational at Sterling country Club. Play was conducted in 45-degree weather and 25 mph north winds.
Ellinwood placed fifth (405) and counted scores by 11th-place Mason Moore (91), 32nd Aiden Ricker (109) and 38th Colby Heinz (122).
Medalist Zach Surface (78) led Sterling to first place with Cheney (354) finishing runner-up.
