GBMS boys split last games before break

At the Christmas break, the Great Bend Middle School eighth-grade boys basketball “A” team record stands at 7-2.
The Panthers split two games this past week, losing to Salina Lakewood on Tuesday, but ending the week with a 48-33 victory over Larned on Thursday.
The “B” team also split a pair of games by beating Larned, 39-21, and the Panthers’ “C” team ended their season with a 2-0 mark with a win against Larned’s “C” team.

GBMS “A” team lost to Salina Lakewood 32-14 on Tuesday.
Lakewood beat the GBMS “B” team 20-17. Leading scorers for the “B” team were Destiny English with eight points and Kendal Sell with seven.
GBMS “A” team toppled Larned 28-26 on Thursday. The leading scorer for the “A” team was Taylor Hommertzheim with 14 points.
Larned beat the GBMS “B” team 29-8.
Going into winter break GBMS “A” team’s record is 8-3, and the “B” team’s record is 4-7.
The girls will play next on Jan. 5 at home against Salina South.
