SALINA — The Great Bend Middle School girls' "A" and "B" basketball teams opened the new year with victories on the road on Thursday at Salina South.
In the "A" game, Carly Dreiling, Taylor Hommertzheim and Kate Warren led the Lady Panthers with seven points apiece in a 29-23 conquest, improving to 9-3 on the season.
In the "B" game, GBMS beat South 28-12 to improve to 5-7 overall. Melani Garcia had eight points and Kendra Sell scored six to lead the Lady Panthers
In boys action, the GBMS "A" team improved its record to 8-2, beating South 47-34. In the "B" game, South defeated GBMS 38-21.
