Golden Belt Swim Squad hosted the first meet of the year on Saturday at Barton Community College.  
Golden Belt dominated teams from Scott City, Hays, Dodge City, Holcomb and Lakin.  Golden Belt had the advantage of size but also had the advantage of a great deal of first-place finishes in both relays and individual events.  
Golden Belt scored 1,059 points, overwhelming the Scott City Stars, which finished in second play with 407 points.
Swimmers that captured first place in the individual events in their age groups are: 8-and-under — Matthew Johnson (2) and Makenzie Premer (1); 10-and-under — Kasey Kennedy (2), McKenna Cape (1) and Ellis Long (2); 11- and 12-year-olds — Allen To (3), Aubrey Snapp (1), Olivia Mull (1) and Cal Dunekack (2); 13- and 14-year-olds — Camryn Dunekack (4), Isaac Panzer (1), Cole Pierce (5) and Hadley Murphy (2); 15-and-up — Hannah Hildebrand (4), Justin Kuhlman (5) and Kira Cook (2).
Along with the great number of individual wins, there were also six pool records broken this weekend, four of which were broken by Golden Belt Swimmers.  
Kuhlman broke the 200 freestyle record for the 15-and-up age group.
Cook broke the record for the 500 freestyle for the 15-and-up age group.
The girls 15-and-up 200 freestyle relay record was set by Cook, Katy Jerke, Michaela Cape and Hildebrand.
Dunekack, Zach Seymour, Matt Huslig, and To set the boys 11-12 200 freestyle relay record.
