BUHLER — The Class A Great Bend Braves 17-and-under baseball team rolled past Cunningham 36-0 in Tuesday’s Class A zone opener. The Braves (23-12) play Pratt at 3:15 p.m. Wednesday.
The Braves scored 13 runs in the first inning and 23 runs in the second inning. Joey Soupiset, Dalton Barfield and Christian Zahnter delivered three-run triples. Riley Smith hit a two-run triple and Eduardo Bujanda hit a two-run single.
Braves pitchers Jacob Hanrahan, Jayce Christiansen and Nahum Olivas combined for a three-inning no-hitter.
The Zone champion and Hays qualify for the Class A state tournament July 19-23 at Hays.
