Great Bend played Dakota team

SHELBY, N.C. — The Great Bend Braves Legion baseball team lost 12-2 to Fargo, N.D. in a Class A Mid-States baseball regional in 2017.  

Three players from the Fargo team — Braden Koenig, Blake Anderson and Caden Headlee — competed for American Legion World Series finalist Fargo in Tuesday’s championship game. Fargo (51-6) played Idaho Falls, Idaho (60-6) in Tuesday’s Legion World Series championship game televised by ESPN-U. 

The Braves also lost in 2017 to Class A Legion state champion Emporia, which captured the 2019 AAA American Legion state championship. The Braves were coached by Travis Kurth and Darrin Hall.
