Stoneridge Country Club played hard and fast, and the golfers had to ward off a swarm of last-season mosquitoes. Players enjoyed good roll on drives and light rough and excellent greens created optimum playing conditions. The temperature reached 88 degrees blessed with a light southerly wind.

The Great Bend Panthers earned a trio of top 10 medals – fifth-place Ashlyn Harbaugh (89), ninth-place Allyson Kaiser (93) and 10th-place Kirsten Miessler (93). Kirsten Miessler (96) finished 12th to round out the scoring. The Panthers (371) finished second behind Western Athletic powerhouse Hays High (344). Great Bend competes at Wichita's Rolling Hills Country Club in Monday's 5A regional.

Harbaugh and Kaiser earned first-team All-WAC honors.

"I'm very pleased with our finish today," said Great Bend coach Travis McAtee. "Four girls had personal best scores and three earned individual medals. The team placing second was a great accomplishment.  I am very proud of how the girls represented themselves at our home invitational. We're looking forward to competing at the 5A regional tournament Monday in Wichita."

Hays High (344) dominated play with the top four finishers – medalist Talaeia McCrae (85), runner-up Sophia Garrison (86), third-place Katie Dinkel (86) and fourth-place Abbie Norris (87). McCrae was named WAC Player of the Year and Garrison and Dinkel earned first-team All-WAC honors. Hays coach Mark Watts was named WAC Coach of the Year.

In the junior varsity division, Panther Kylee Mohr (20 over) placed third; Cailee Moeder (20 over) finished fourth and Paige Lamb (21 over) placed fifth.
