On Tuesday the Great Bend Panthers traveled to Garden City for a triangular meet with Garden City and Holcomb. The Great Bend girls won the competition by rolling a team series of 2223 and earned six of the possible 11 points. The girls were led in scoring by sophomore Allie Brodrick’s 577 series which earned her a 3rd place medal in the contest. Other Lady Panthers who rolled big games include: senior Addie Soukup’s 238 game and sophomore McKenzy Black’s games of 194 and 201. Four Lady Panthers rolled series of 500 or better including: Allie Brodrick 577, Addie Soukup 533, Mckenzy Black 532, and Abby Rose 509. The Lady Panthers are currently in 2nd place in the WAC standings.
In boys action the Panthers were in scoring by freshman Kameron Keener. Keener paced the Panthers by rolling a 617 series with a high game of 240 which earned him 2nd place honors. The boys squad earned three of the possible 11 points and are currently setting in 2nd place in the WAC.
In bowling action from Liberal the Lady Panthers dominated by earning ten of the 11 points possible. The Lady Panthers were led in scoring by senior Addie Soukup’s 570 series and game high 235 game which earned her 1st place honors. Sophomore Kylynn Keeler rolled a 513 series which earned her a 2nd place medal.
In boys action the Panthers earned six of the 11 points and were led in scoring by Kameron Keener and Jeff Mietler. The freshman Keener rolled games of 222, 219, 212 for a 653 series and a 2nd place medal. Senior Jeff Mietler rolled games of 208, 216, 195 for a 619 series.
In bowling action from Dodge City the Lady Panthers dominated the day by winning nine of 11 points. Sophomore Allie Brodrick led the Panthers in scoring by bowling games of 146, 202, 232 for a 1st place series of 582. Sophomore Elsi Miller also had an outstanding day as she earned the 2nd place medal by rolling games of 164, 236, 179 for a 579 series. Other Lady Panthers who had series totals over 500 include: Addie Soukup 530, Kylynn Keeler 520, and Abby Rose 504.
Boys results from Dodge City included Jeff Mietler’s 3rd place series of 611. The boys won seven of the 11 points possible.
Both Panther teams will be bowling this Saturday at the Andover Tournament in Wichita at The Alley.
