The Great Bend Kids Wrestling club captured first place in the Roger Richter Memorial Open/Novice wrestling tournament at Great Bend. The Great Bend wrestling club had 14 wrestlers place first.

Great Bend’s wrestlers scored 515. points to beat the runner-up Pratt Wrestling Club by 194.5 points.

“We had more than 10 pins and that is quite remarkable,” said Darin Schartz, Great Bend Kids wrestling coach. 

“I’m really happy and proud to send the Roger Richter Memorial trophy home where it belongs.”

Jesse Richter was on hand to accept the trophy. Jesse’s son Braxton wrestled in the event bearing his grandfather’s name.
