Great Bend Panther cards eagle
allyson Kaiser DC

DODGE CITY – Great Bend Panther Allyson Kaiser enjoyed a career highlight with an eagle 2 at No. 15 at Thursday’s Dodge City Golf Invitational.

"A highlight of the tournament was junior Allyson Kaiser scoring an eagle 2 at the par 4, 15th hole," said Great Bend coach Travis McAtee. " Allyson knocked in a 6-iron second shot into the hole for the eagle."

Ashlyn Harbaugh continues to shine with a ninth-place medalist finish (92).

The Panthers placed sixth (421) and also counted scores by 17th-place Allyson Kaiser (102), 25th-place Kendyl Henning (109) and 36th-place Kiersten Miessler (118) and Daltry Kurth (118).

"Overall, as a team, we could've played better," McAtee said. "Our consistency needs to improve. We need to continue building our confidence level in executing shots. We'll continue to work to clean things up as the season continues Monday at Liberal."

Hays High placed first (355) with Maize High (382) placing runner-up. Maize High’s Lexie Ridder (84) and Hays High’s Taleia McCrae (84) tied for medalist honors.

Play was conducted in cloudy weather with temperatures in the 50s.

"The weather was cool but much more favorable than what we had on Tuesday at Salina," McAtee said.
