Great Bend set to host Hap Dumont Tour this weekend

The Great Bend Recreation Commission is hosting the 2015 NBC Hap Dumont Points Tournament on April 25-26th .  

Team representation from  Hays, Hutchinson, Wichita, Hoisington, Southwest Kansas, Haven, Pratt, McPherson, Larned, McCook Neb., Marysville, Wellington, Salina, Nickerson, Liberal, Colwich, Dodge City will begin play at the Great Bend Sports Complex and Veteran’s Ball Park at 9:30 am on Saturday morning.    

Great Bend is getting ready for a full season of Baseball and softball tournaments this spring and summer to include KSHSAA 2A-1A State Baseball Championship on May 28-29, 2015.

“The Great Bend Recreation Commission staff and City of Great Bend Parks Department staff have been  very busy  this week getting our facilities ready for this tournament,” said Diann Henderson, executive director, Great Bend Recreation Commission. “This weekend’s tournament precedes the KCAC (Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference) championships to begin next week Wednesday.”

The KCAC Championships host sponsors are the City of Great Bend and the Great Bend Recreation Commission.

The Hap Dumont Tournament is the first tournament this spring to be held in Great Bend. The next GBRC Feature Hap Dumont Tournament is scheduled for June 6 and 7 as part of June Jaunt weekend. The Great Bend Recreation Commission will be hosting the GBRC 11 and under State NBC Hap Dumont Championships on July 10-12.
