GREAT BEND BOYS 54, PRATT 19 – Great Bend's wrestlers swept six contested matches to overpower Prat's boys 54-19 in Thursday's dual match.
Panthers Triston Tomlinson (8-3, 106), No. 4 ranked Jace Schartz (13-0, 150), No. 4 ranked Cooper Liles (13-0, 157), No. 2 ranked Matthew Johnson (12-1, 175), Trenton Kern (6-5, 190) and Keyven Schroeder (10-3) all won contested matches, Tomlinson, Liles, Johnson and Kern earned pins. Schartz and Schroeder won on decisions.
Earning forfeits were Great Bend's Aaron Ramirez (120), Kaiden Hoffman (126), Hayden Kelly (132) and No. 6 ranked Skyler McMullen (138).
PRATT GIRLS 37, GREAT BEND 29 – Great Bend’s No. 3 state-ranked Daizy Gomez (12-2, 125) defeated Pratt’s Grace Hembree 19-4 to earn one of the Panthers’ four wins that were contested in a 37-29 dual meet loss to Pratt. Also winning contested matches were Kaylea McMullen (14-4, 120), Lea Nokes (9-2, 170) and Natalee Daniels (8-3, 190). Great Bend’s Haylee Holinde (9-1, 235) won by forfeit.
No. 1 state-ranked 4A Pratt won seven contested matches. No. 1 ranked Jadyn Thompson (8-0, 130) beat Katie Kuhlman 8-0 in one of the night’s feature matches. Rachel Rawlins (110), Emma Freeman (115) and No. 1 ranked Keimaria Thompson (140) won on pins.
