LARNED — Larned pitcher Aiden Smyth shut down Haven and Brayden Rupp drove home two runs as the Indians salvaged a split of Tuesday's Central Kansas League doubleheader with a 5-2 victory. Haven won the opener 5-0.

Larned (7-5, 5-5 CKL) plays Hillsboro (4-2, 4-2) and Haven (7-3, 5-3 CKL) plays at Nickerson (8-2, 8-2) April 23.

LARNED 5, HAVEN 2 (G2) — Larned scored four first-inning runs keyed by three Haven errors. Tristen Burger scored on an error. Jack Stelter scored on Logan Erway's groundout. Rupp's RBI single scored Brandon Ceniceros.  Rupp scored an an error for a 4-0 lead.

Rupp's single scored Ceniceros in the third inning for a 5-0 lead. Smyth threw five shutout innings and struck out seven batters that helped overcome six walks.

Smyth picked off Ryan Williams picked off. Right fielder Gunnar Cline relayed to first baseman Logan Erway to catcher Stelte to throw out Williams at home in the fourth inning.

Haven scored on a bases-loaded sixth inning walk. Marion Quintero scored on Ryan Jenkins' seventh-inning groundout.

HAVEN 5, LARNED 0 (G1) — Haven pitcher Jamar Miller worked out of a bases-loaded situation and shut out Larned on two hits. Miller retired the first 11 batters and threw no-hit baseball for five innings. Jack Stelter and Logan Erway walked for the Indians' first two baserunners. 

Mello Bryant broke up Miller's no-hitter with a sixth-inning single.  Tristen Burger walked and Aidan Smyth's mishandled sacrifice bunt loaded the bases with no out. But Miller threw Bryant out at home on Stelter's groundball and Brandon Ceniceros and Logan Erway struck out to end the threat.  

Kaleb Dale scored on a third-inning error after a single and sacrifice bunt. Lucas Cheers was hit by a pitch and scored on Mario Quintero's groundout for a 2-0 lead. Leadoff batter Mario Quintero reached base on a fifth-inning infield error and scored on Jack Stelter's throwing error after stealing third base for a 3-0 lead. 

Miller scored on Kasey Cooprider's groundball and Kaleb Dale scored on a double steal in the seventh inning. Miller walked and Dale reached on an error.
