HOISINGTON GIRLS 47, SMOKY VALLEY 39 – Hoisington’s Kylee Hahn dominated the paint with 19 points in the 3A Russell substate. Addy Mason scored 11 points and Ellie Crawford added eight points.

The Cardinals (13-8) outscored the Vikings 16-1 for a 36-21 lead after a 20-20 tie. Hahn converted four free throws and Mason hit a 3-pointer and a 2-pointer. The Cardinals converted second-chance points to dominate inside.

“Our ‘bigs’ are physical on the boards. They did the job on the offensive boards,” said Hoisington coach Mandy Mason. “We’re excited about the opportunity.”

Viking leading scorer Adrian Hazelwood, averaging 16 points, was limited to six points.

“Our whole game plan was to take her out of her game, We knew where she was,” Mason said.
