Cardinals sweep Trojans

HILLSBORO – Hoisington’s softball team (8-4) regained momentum with a dominating 16-3 and 9-3 Central Kansas League sweep over Hillsboro.

CARDINALS 16, HILLSBORO 3 (G1) – Hoisington scored in six of seven innings to power past the Trojans with 15 hits. Ellie Crawford and Paige Lamatsch homered. Crawford tripled. Kashlin Beck and Carly Delzeit doubled.

Lamatsch drove home four runs. Beck, Crawford and Addyson Ogle each drove home two runs. Delzeit and Tricia Schremmer each drove in a run.

Hoisington pitcher Jordyn Boxberger (3-2) earned the victory.

CARDINALS 9, HILLSBORO 3 (G2) – Hoisington’s Beck doubled and drove home three runs. Crawford tripled and drove home two runs. Ogle, Schremmer, Lamatsch and Bynn Blanc each drove in a run.

Cardinal pitcher Emma Willesden (4-2) earned the victory.
