HOISINGTON – Hoisington pitcher Taylor Boxberger threw a one-hit shutout in a 10-0 victory and the Cardinals completed a softball sweep of Nickerson with a 12-7 victory in the nightcap.

HOISINGTON 10, NICKERSON 0 (G1) – Boxberger struck out 10 batters and yielded a double to Kylee Stucky.

Riley Brungardt drove in three runs with two hits. Brooke Steinert, Nickerson transfer Skylar Eidson and Bailee Bachar each drove home two runs. Bachar delivered two hits.

HOISINGTON 12, NICKERSON 7 (G2) – Nickerson caught up to Boxberger with 11 hits, but the Cardinals rallied with 12 hits and an eight-run fourth inning.

Cardinal Gracie Alyward drove home two runs with four hits. Keeley Wolf, Taylor Boxberger each drove home runs. Bailee Bachar and Kassidy Nixon each had two hits. Bachar’s double keyed the eight-run inning and Alyward, Nixon and Wolf delivered base hits.

Nickerson’s Lanaya Hada, Kaitlyn Daines and Kylee Stucky each drove home two runs. Daines drilled a home run.
