KINGMAN – Tyler Garrison and Brandon Bradshaw combined for 28 first-half points and Kingman’s boys beat Hoisington 54-42 in a Central Kansas League basketball game.
Garrison hit back-to-back treys and Garrison and Bradshaw took charge with a 17-1 run to lead 28-21 after trailing 20-11.
“That was a critical part of the game,” said Hoisington coach Kyle Haxton. “You’ve got to buckle down at the defensive end. The same kid -- Garrison hurting us from the perimeter. It wasn’t a secret he could shoot the ball. He’s a great shooter. We lost our poise after things down south.”
Kingman (8-7, 3-3 CKL) was paced by Garrison with 25 points and Bradshaw added 11 points.
Christopher Wright led the Cardinals (6-9, 1-5 CKL) with 14 points and Steffan Dolechek added 11 points.

KINGMAN – Hoisington’s defense locked down state-ranked Kingman’s girls en route to a stunning 41-35 upset over the No. 9 ranked Class 3A Eagles in a Central Kansas League basketball victory.
Karia Schremmer, Abbi Demel and Rylie Koester made free throws to clinch the victory. Schremmer led the Cardinals (6-9, 3-3 CKL) with 11 points and Koester added 10 points. Emma Harmon hit a trio of 3-pointers.
Kingman (11-3, 3-3 CKL) was led by Sada Smih with 21 points.
