Cardinals' Tarlton wins Larned cross country title

LARNED — Hoisington's returning state qualifier Kamden Tarlton (17:23.9) continued his successful running with a first-place medalist finish at Thursday's Abby Trapp Prescott Larned cross country invitational. Pratt Skyline (61) edged Hoisington for the boys team title.

Also counting for runner-up Hoisington were 15th-place Alex Mater, 19:44.7; 18th-place Eli Lewis, 19:48.4; 24th-place Michael Hipp, 20:09.6; and 27th-place Brady Rossman, 20:15.7.

GIRLS DIVISION — Returning Otis-Bison state qualifier Destiny Mitchell (22:05.2) finished runner-up behind Ellis champion Avery Boydson (19:46.0) at Thursday's Abby Trapp Prescott cross country invitational.

Hoisington earned a pair of top 10 medalists with sixth-place Tristin Compton (22;40.0) and ninth-place Tianna Lutters (23:48.1).
