LARNED — Haven’s softball team scored 12 consecutive runs to rally from a 7-2 deficit to sweep Larned 10-1 and 14-7 in eight innings.
Haven (7-3, 7-1 CKL) leads the Central Kansas League. Larned (4-8, 2-8 CKL) plays Hillsboro (6-2, 6-2 CKL) at home April 23.
HAVEN 10, LARNED 1 (G1) — Haven pitcher Maquire Estill struck out 12 Indians in a three-hit outing. Haven’s Sierra Nisly, Abby Hartung and Lexi Smith each drove home two runs. Brooke Brawner and Kaylie Kincaid added RBI base hits.
Alea Makings doubled home Baylea Perez for Larned’s sixth-inning run. Makings delivered two hits and Shaylee Martin singled.
HAVEN 14, LARNED 7 (G2) — Haven pitcher Maquire Estill shut down the Indians on two hits over five innings after the Wildcats trailed 7-2.
The Wildcats forced extra innings when Brooke Brawner doubled home Carlee Arnold and Kylie Hefling and Sierra Nisley’s bases-loaded walk forced home Brawner for a 7-7 tie.
Amie Yoder delivered a two-run single and Hefling, Brawner and Esill added RBI hits in a seven-run eighth inning off reliever Baylea Perez.
The pesky Indians led 3-0 after Martin doubled home Baylea Perez and Kendry Grandy doubled home Abby Towery and Trinity Woods. Ivory Muldrow scored on an error and Perez scored on Lynzi Myrick;s groundout for a 5-1 lead. Grandy scored and Perez tripled home Muldrow for a 7-2 lead after three innings.
