SCOTT CITY GIRLS 50, LARNED 41

KISMET – No. 1 seeded Scott City broke away in the second quarter and pulled away for a hard-fought 50-41 substate basketball semifinal victory over the Larned Indians.

Larned (10-12) was sparked by Ivory Muldrow with 11 points and Katelynn Sanger with nine points. Baylea Perez added seven points. The Indians converted 15 of 44 field goals and 13 of 18 free throws.

The Indians led into the second quarter when Scott City’s Lyndi Rumford scored 12 first-half points. Rumford (16), Brynn McCormick (14) and Emily Weathers (14) scored in double figures.
