LARNED – Larned's Jayme Hagerman swept two events and keyed two relay teams to first place to spark the Indians to a runner-up finish (171) behind champion Hays Thomas More Prep (176) in Monday's rescheduled Larned Track Invitational. The Monarch girls won nine events.
Larned's Ava Mull swept the discus (110-8) and javelin (101-11). Larned's runner-up finishes were earned by Cadee Upson, shot put (35-01/2) and discus (91-0); Smith, 100 (13.92) and 200 (28.36); Abby Holt, 300m hurdles (1:00.04); Aylice Clawson, 3,200 (18:52.19); Halle Barker, long jump (15-3) and Pinkston, triple jump (31-101/2).
St. John's runner-up finishes were earned by Heidi Fisher, javelin, (86-4); Payton Meyer, 400 (1:06.66) and Darby Smith, 800 (2:53.24) and 1,600m (6:18.18) and the 3,200-meter relay (12:11.91) with Fisher, Paige Mansel, Meyer and Smith.
BOYS DIVISION — Larned's boys won three events. Nathaniel Pfortmiller won the 110-meter hurdles (18.35). Kaleb Augustine won the shot put (44-11).. The Indians won the 1,600-meter relay (3:47.95) with Luke Wilson, Pfortmiller, Creighton Haney and Brayson Bird competing.
Larned's runner-up finishers were Haney, L400 (57.75); Augustine, discus (109-5) and the 400-meter relay (46.71) with Haney, Pfortmiller, Kaden Auble and Jacob Colglazier competing.
St. John's Uriel Calleros earned a first-place medal in the 3,200 meters (12:04.89).
