Not only did the Hoisington Varsity Wrestling Team have a great weekend, but so did the Junior Varsity squad. The team took 10 wrestlers to the Larned J.V. tournament this past Saturday and placed eight in the top three. At 170 and 285 lbs., the Cardinals had both finalists.
Leading the way for the Cardinals with first place finishes were: sophomore Ben Schneider, 170; sophomore Justin Bradley, 195; and sophomore Colin Hinds, 285 lbs. Placing 2nd were senior Tyler Walker 152; sophomore Jeremy Breit, 170; and junior Brody Nicholas, 285. Coming in third place for the Cards were sophomore Brinttain Noah 138; and freshman Rudy Gearhart, 145. Just out of the medals for the Cards were sophomore Jack Williams, 138 lbs., at 5th; and sophomore Trevar Younger, 285, who placed 6th.
Next action for the J.V. Cardinals will Saturday when the team will travel to Phillipsburg to compete in the Panther J.V. Tournament slated to start at 9 a.m..
