LITTLE RIVER 32, LARNED 20  Little River held Larned to 22 percent shooting and forced 25 turnovers to spark a 32-20 Hilltop Classic victory. The Indians converted 8 of 36 from the field.

Larned was paced by Eden Evers with six points and three assists. Julie Tapia contributed 10 rebounds. Kendra Grandy added five points. Larned (0-11) plays Ell-Saline (0-11) at 4 p.m. Friday in the 5th-place game.

Lily Boughfman led Little River with 13 points and eight rebounds. Leah Ayers added eight points.

Scoring was a struggle for both teams. Little River gained an 8-3 first quarter edge on two field goals. The Lady Redskins led 17-11 at halftime in the low-scoring affair.

“We got what we wanted from running our offense but it was like there was a lid on the basket," said Larned coach Ashley Crosby. "Our shots just wouldn’t go in. Turnovers, especially in the first half, really were a problem for us as well, limiting our ability to score.”

Little River increased their margin to 24-13 at the end of three quarters. The Redskins made 12 of 42 field goal attempts for 29% but 14 offensive rebounds created second chances.
