Macksville boys win Spearville track title

SPEARVILLE – Macksville’s returning 400-meter state champion Ryan Kuckelman and Alexis Barron swept two events to spark the Mustangs to first place at the Spearville Track Invitational. The Mustangs (94.5) finished ahead of Ellinwood (74) and Larned (70).

Kuckelman swept the 200 (24.02) and 400 (52.7). Barron won the 100-meter hurdles (17.04) and 800 meters (2:12.78). Macksville’s foursome of Kuckelman, Lance Lickiss, Jason Cleveland and Barron won the 1,600-meter relay (3:38.84).

Larned’s boys earned a pair of first-place finishes. Fernando Herrera won the triple jump (41-3). The Indians won the 400-meter relay (45.62) with Herrera, Luke Wilson, Brayson Bird and Kaden Auble.

LARNED GIRLS – The Hagerman sisters enjoyed a brilliant meet. Jayme Hagerman won the 400 meters (1:02.63) and triple jump (36-2). Kaylee Hagerman won the 100 meters (13.44). Larned’s Cadee Upson swept the shot put (36-9) and discus (98-8).

Macksville standout Madison Butler earned a first-place in the 3,200 meters (13:26.56) and runner-up finishes in the 800 and 1,600. Macksville won the 3,200-meter relay (11:34.92) with Abigail Ibarra, Laney Butler, Kambry Adams and Mayce Russell competing.

South Gray (104) won the girls team title.
