LYONS – Macy Hanzlick scored 17 points as Hoisington's girls raced past Lyons 42-32 in Friday's Central Kansas League basketball victory over Lyons. The Cardinals built a 36-16 lead when the Lions caught fire from 3-point land. Jordyn Boxberger added eight points. The Cardinals (12-7, 5-3) have swept eight of their past 10 games.
"We're playing our best basketball of the year. We're excited where we're at," said Hoisington coach Mandy Mason.
Lyons' Jayme Belote scored 14 points with four 3-pointers.

LYONS – Lyons Lion Dawson Stover scored 20 points to celebrate Senior Night with a hard-fought 49-42 Central Kansas League basketball victory over Hoisington. Hoisington's Bralen Thompson was brilliant with 21 points and Tony Moore scored a career high 11 points.
The Cardinals led by one point during the second half, but were unable to sustain the momentum. The Cardinals (8-11, 2-6) lost their fourth consecutive ballgame heading to Tuesday's Senior Night against Larned.

ELLINWOOD – Ellinwood all-stater Britton Dutton achieved school history with a 26-point effort that passed Todd Robins on the Eagles' all-time scoring list in a 73-23 Central Prairie League basketball victory over Otis-Bison. Dutton has scored 1,404 career points that beats Robins' total of 1,390 points. Dutton holds the single game scoring mark of 48 points.
The Eagles clinched back-to-back Central Prairie League titles with the victory. Cody Zink (14) and Koy Behnke (12) also scored in double figures.

But South Gray erased a 24-17 deficit with a 68-46 Southern Plains Iroquois League basketball victory. Carlson scored 19 points and Braden Colglazier added 12 points with 10 boards and three assists.
South Gray (17-2) was sparked by Brent Penner (18), Joey Dyck (14), Ian Davis (13) and Brady Deges (11) in double figures.
