Oilers win quad tennis meet

CLAFLIN — Central Plains Oilers No. 1 doubles Brett Liebl-Devin Ryan and No. 2 doubles Paxton Hammeke-Lawson Oeser placed first to help the Oilers win the Hoisington tennis quad tournament. The Oilers (25) edged Scott City (22) by three points. 

Liebl-Ryan defeated WaKeeney-Trego's Clay Burk-Dylan Johnson, 8-0 for first place.

Hammeke-Oeser defeated Scott City's Victor Martinez-Blake Koehn, 8-3 for first place.

Scott City's No. 1 singles William Cupp defeated Central Plains Oiler J.J. Heredia 8-7 (8-6) in a tiebreaker for first place. Scott City's No. 2 singles Chris Wright defeated Central Plains Oiler Karter Beck 8-3 for first place.
