Oilers' doubles teams sweep titles

CLAFLIN — Central Plains’ No. 1 doubles Brynna Hammeke/Kyla Metro (10-2) and No. 2 doubles Jennah Jeffrey/Lauren Oeser (9-3) captured first place in the Oilers’ quadrangular tournament. 

Hammeke/Metro, fifth-place last year at 3-2-1A state, downed Larned’s Kathryn Holt/Abby Holt, 8-3 in the championship match. Holt/Holt own a 15-5 record. 

Jeffrey/Oeser downed Larned’s Ava Mull/Sarah Manry, 8-2 in the championship match. Mull/Manry own a 9-7 record.

WaKeneey-Trego’s No. 1 singles Caroline Brungardt downed Larned’s Audrey Manry (17-3), 8-5 in the title game. 

Larned’s No. 2 singles Ella McNett (16-3) downed Hoisington’s Isabelle Gonzalez 8-4 in the first-place match.
