Oilers’ No. 1 singles Ryan stays unbeaten

CLAFLIN — Central Plains Oiler No. 1 singles Emily Ryan cruised to three wins to stay unbeaten in Tuesday’s Central Plains Invitational tennis tournament., Ryan defeated Trego’s Adrian Dietz, 8-0; Ellsworth’s Steph Soukup, 8-1 and Hoisington’s Audrie Harms, 8-0. Ryan finished as 3-1A state singles runner-up last year.

Oiler No. 2 singles Zoe Poter finished first by beating Ellsworth’s Hayley Sanchez 8-2, Hoisington’s Brooke Steinert 8-5 and Trego’s Cambrie Kemp, 8-1.

Hoisington’s No. 1 doubles Emma Mooney and Marta Vara Rodriguez defeated teams from Ellsworth, Trego and Central Plains.   

Hoisington’s No. 2 doubles Bailee Bachar-Jacquelyn Gonzalez lost 8-6 to Ellsworth’s Maggie Windholz-Madison Tully for first place.
