Panther swimmers win three events at Hutchinson

HUTCHINSON – Great Bend’s 200-yard freestyle relay and Ellis Long and Kasey Kennedy earned first-place medals at Tuesday’s Hutchinson Swimming Invitational.

The Panthers won the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:43.37) with Beau Burkhart, Long, Kasey Kennedy and Adam Hall competing. Long captured first place in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:05.29) after placing seventh at state last year. Kennedy won the 100-yard butterfly (1:03.6) after placing 16th at state last year.

Runner-up finishes were earned by Long in the 50-yard freestyle (24.16) and the Panthers’ 200-medley relay (1:59.88) with Burkhart, Long, Kennedy and Hall competing.

Buhler (602) placed first followed by Western Athletic Conference rivals Garden City (356) and Great Bend (3501/2).
