GARDEN CITY — Great Bend Panther Brody Feist captured the 200 IM (2:24.38) and Tyler Stein won the 500 freestyle (5:50.47) to spark the Panthers swimmers at Thursday's Garden City swimming quad.

Great Bend's best relay finish was runner-up in 400 freestyle relay (3:55.7) with Matthew Huslig, Jacob Kennedy, Tyler Stein and Brody Feist competing with a state-consideration time.

Huslig finished runner-up in the 200 freestyle (1:55.4) with a state consideration time. Stein finished runner-up in the 50 freestyle (25.17)

Defending Western Athletic conference champion Garden City captured first place (420) with Great Bend (318) finishing runner-up. The Buffaloes are heavy favorites to capture the WAC swimming title this week at Great Bend. 

Garden City's Connor Cupp swept the 100 breaststroke (1:04.78) and 100 butterfly (56.18) with state qualifying times; and Devin Chappel won the 100 freestyle (50.9) and 200 freestyle (1:52.14) with state qualifying times. Chappel and Cupp competed on two first-place relays.
