Panthers compete at McPherson

MCPHERSON – Great Bend’s Kaylin Wahlmeier placed eighth in singles as the Panthers scored 20 points to finish seventh Thursday at the McPherson Tennis Tournament.

Newton’s Haley Ruth defeated Wahlmeier, 8-4, for seventh place. McPherson White’s Jordan Martens defeated Panther Lakyn Smith, 8-7 (7-5) for 13th-place in the day’s tightest match.

In doubles, Derby’s Chloe Enslinger/Kyler Demel defeated Panthers Samantha Mayers/Taylor Lashley, 8-4 for 11th-place. Derby’s Kyler Cotton/Ayanna Wright defeated Panthers Danica Strickland Kylie McCormick, 8-2 for 13th-place.
