HOISINGTON – Underdog Hoisington missed a shot to take a late lead when Haven’s girls iced a 37-32 Central Kansas League basketball victory over the Cardinals. Haven secured the victory when Kinley Jacques and Sienna DeFrain each converted two free throws after an intentional foul was called.
Hoisington (5-3) sliced a 10-point Haven lead to 33-32 behind a Jordyn Boxberger basket and two Addy Mason free throws. Boxberger and Mallory Mooney scored seven points and Kylee Hahn added six points.
Haven (9-0, 1-0 CKL) was paced by DeFrain with 14 points and Jacques with 11 points and a trio of 3-pointers.
