ST. JOHN — St. John’s all-stater Dean Wade scored 26 points with six assists and four steals in an 86-27 victory over Macksville in a Central  Prairie league basketball game. Cole Kinnamon scored 16 points with four assists.
The Tigers (19-0, 7-0 CPL) clinched the Central Prairie League title. The Tigers led 32-8 after one period and 54-10 at halftime.

Tanner Galliart scored 13 first-half points and finished with 15 points. Jordan Zimmerman added 11 points.
Larned (13-6, 6-4 CKL) is tied for third place in the Central Kansas League with Haven (11-8, 6-4).

Dodge City’s boys held Great Bend to a season low 23 points with aggressive defense that shut down the Panthers’ 3-point offense Friday.
Noah Williams scored 14 points to pace Dodge City (10-8, 4-2 WAC). Kody Crosby continued to lead the Panthers with 11 points. Great Bend dropped to 2-16 and 0-6 in WAC action. The Panthers were tied 10-10 after one period.
Dodge City busted the game open with a 14-4 run in the third quarter.

HOISINGTON — Hoisington’s boys rallied from a 12-point deficit to upset Halstead 51-45 in a Central Kansas League basketball game. The Cardinals outscored the Dragons 15-9 in the fourth quarter.
Steffan Dolechek led the Cardinals (8-11, 3-7 CKL) with 15 points and Brad Reif added 13 points. Halstead (5-14, 3-7 CKL) was paced by Trevor Thomas with 19 points.

NESS CITY — No. 3 ranked Class 2A Central Plains roared past Kinsley 65-20 in a Central Prairie League basketball game. The Oilers led 27-2 after one quarter.
Central Plains (15-3, 6-1 CPL) placed Layne Bieberle (14), Michael Ryan (13) and Crites (12) in double figures. Bieberle scored eight points in the first quarter. Kinsley (5-14, 0-7 CPL) was led by Zach Crockett with eight points.

Dodge City’s girls captured the Western Athletic Conference basketball title with a hard-fought 50-43 victory over Great Bend, the defending champion.
Dodge City (12-6, 6-0 WAC) steadily pulled away from the pesky Panthers with offensive second-chance points and converting turnovers into points. Jessie Harshbarger led the Red Demons with 15 points and Brianna Bradshaw added 11 points. The Red Demons sealed the victory with free throws.
Great Bend (8-10, 3-3 WAC)  continued to receive solid play from Lauren Welsch with 16 points and freshman Carley Brack added eight points. Welsch’s basket got the Panthers within 32-31, but they could never regain the lead in the second half.

HOISINGTON — Halstead’s Daphne Williams banked in a 35-footer at the final buzzer to lift the Dragons to a stunning 41-40 Central Kansas League basketball victory over Hoisington.
The Cardinals led 40-39 when Karisa Schemmer made two foul shots with six seconds left. Halstead’s Maddie Warner tied the score at 38 with a basket with two minutes left. Williams passed halfcourt and sank the game-winner as time expired. Halstead (6-13, 3-7 CKL) trailed 37-30 before outscoring the Cardinals 14-3
Emma Harmon led the Cardinals (6-13, 3-7 CKL) with 17 points and Karisa Schremmer added 10 points. The Cardinals made 5 of 12 free throws the second half. The Cardinals led 19-6 when Halstead sliced the lead to 19-14 at halftime.

Taylor Rolfs led the Oilers (19-0, 7-0 CPL) with 16 points. Others in double figures were Janae Ryan (13), Cassidy Crites (12) and Breanna Schasrtz (11).
Alex Herrman led Kinsley (10-9, 3-5 CPL) with 19 points.
