Macksville’s boys outscored Otis-Bison 26-8 after halftime for a 53-43 Central Prairie League basketball victory. Jacob Rein led Macksville with 18 points and Karson Waters added 14 points.

OTIS-BISON GIRLS 54, MACKSVILLE 40
Maddie Wiltse scored 20 points and Sheridan Ewy netted 15 on five 3-pointers to spark Otis-Bison past Macksville 54-40 in Tuesday’s Central Prairie League basketball game. Cora Anderson had six assists and Cristen Trapp had five assists. Wiltse had four steals. The Cougars (13-5, 4-3 CPL) outscored the Mustangs 17-5 in the first quarter.
Macksville (8-10, 3-5 CPL) was paced by BrayLynn Anshutz with 13 points. Lexi Wright dished out four assists. Jenna Russell had four steals.

Ellinwood’s David Hammeke contributed nine points and six rebounds in a 64-21 loss to Plainville High School. Ellinwood (2-16) trailed 24-5 after one quarter.

St. John’s Chase Fisher contributed 20 points and eight rebounds to spark the Tigers past South Central 66-33 in a non-league basketball game.
The No. 4 ranked 1A Tigers (13-4) featured Eddy Calleros (12), Braden Witt (10) and Quincy Smith (10) in double figures. Smith and Mason Osborne each had seven assists. Osborne had four steals.

Hoisington’s Drew Nicholson scored 11 points and the Cardinals hung tough against Hesston in a 48-38 Central Kansas League basketball loss.
Hoisington (7-11, 3-5) also placed Mason Haxton in double figures (10). Hesston (15-3, 8-1 CKL) was led by Reece Nebel and G.J. Toews with 12 points.
