ST. JOHN — Dean Wade had nearly half of St. John-Hudson High School’s points in the opening round of the St. John Lions Club Mid-Winter Classic on Tuesday night.
Wade finished with 28 points, six rebounds, five blocks and three steals for the Tigers.
Zuriel Reyes added 11 points.

Larned 60,
Medicine Lodge 41
ST. JOHN — Larned had a pair of players in double figures, and the Indians advance to a semifinal game against St. John in the St. John Lions Club Mid-Winter Classic with the win.
Brayden Smith finished with 14 points to lead the Indians.
Easton Palmer added 13 points, including a trio of 3-pointers.
The semifinal game will be held on Friday night, starting at 6:30.

Otis-Bison 57,
Ellinwood 37
HOISINGTON — A 27-point performance from Kyle Patrick boosted Otis-Bison over Ellinwood in the opening round of the Hoisington Winter Jam.
Patrick went 6-for-6 from the free-throw line.
Hayden Maier added 13 points for the Cougars.
Ellinwood was led by Marc Waite, who scored 10 points.

GIRLS
Hoisington 60,
Victoria 46
HOISINGTON — Hoisington’s one-two punch has done it again for the Lady Cardinals.
Jordin Greer scored a game-high 24 points, and Rylie Koester backed her up with 20 points as Hoisington advances to the second round of the Hoisington Winter Jam.
Abbi Demel scored 10 points for the Lady Cardinals.

Minneapolis 47,
Otis-Bison 24
HOISINGTON — Neither team started in a hurry with Otis-Bison leading 5-2 after eight minutes at the Hoisington Winter Jam.
Minneapolis found its footing in the second quarter, and took control for the rest of the game.
The Lady Cougars were led by Annie Kraisinger, who finished with 11 points.

MONDAY

GIRLS
Ellinwood 60,
La Crosse 26
HOISINGTON — Sophie Hayes accounted for 20 points, Rachel Doll added 19 as Ellinwood routed La Crosse to open the Hoisington Winter Jam on Monday night.
The Lady Eagles held a meager 12-10 lead after one quarter, but blew away the Lady Leopards in the second period for a 32-14 advantage at intermission.
Ellinwood advanced to a semifinal game against Russell, which starts on Friday at 3 p.m.

BOYS
Victoria 68,
Hoisington 54
HOISINGTON — Hoisington had a 12-10 after eight minutes, but Victoria scored 29 points in the second quarter to take a 39-30 lead at halftime.
The Knights held their lead throughout the second half.
Trent Schremmer scored a team-leading nine points for the Cardinals.
Christopher Wright added eight points.
