OTIS-BISON 54, MEADE 51
OTIS – Kade Urban drilled the game-winning 3-pointer and Anton Foust blocked a game-tying 3-point attempt as Otis-Bison edged Meade 54-51 in a non-league basketball victory.
No. 4 ranked Class 1A-Div. 2 Otis-Bison (12-4) captured the lead 53-51 on Urban’s 3-pointer with 50 seconds left. Meade’s Martin Iglesias, Ethan Thompson and Blake Keith missed field goals and Foust added a free throw. Foust blocked a final try by Iglesias.
Maitland Wiltse scored 16 points and Urban added 15 points.

OTIS – Otis-Bison’s Taylor Regan scored 22 second-half points to spark an upset of No. 2 state-ranked Class 2A Meade 56-51 in a non-league basketball victory.
The No. 2 ranked Class 1A-Div. 2 Cougars (14-2) trailed 32-22 with four minutes left in the third period before scoring 34 points in the final 12 minutes. Regan scored 14 fourth-quarter points, 10 free throws. Regan finished with 24 points and Maddie Wiltse added 16 points, eight in the third quarter. Meade (14-1) was paced by Jaylin Stapleton with 23 points.

Ellinwood (5-10) placed Zack Jacobs (15), Tyson Martinez (11) and Nathan Monday (11) in double figures. The Eagles were outscored 23-9 in the first period. Peyton Duvall had two steals. Joel Kasselman dished out three assists.

St. John (13-1, 4-0 CPL) outscored the Oilers (9-5, 3-1 CPL) 16-7 in the decisive fourth period after leading 29-27 after three periods.

Emily Ryan scored 31 points, 27 in the first half for the Oilers (15-0, 4-0 CPL). Central Plains led 50-16 at halftime.
St. John (7-7, 2-2 CPL) was led by Bailey Burns with nine points.

NICKERSON – Nickerson’s girls upset Hoisington 46-35 behind nine 3-pointers in a Central Kansas League basketball game to snap the Cardinals’ five game winning streak.
The Panthers (4-10, 3-3 CKL) trailed by eight points until Brylee Engelland sparked a 16-3 run for a 22-16 halftime lead with 3-point shooting. Engelland converted four 3-pointers and Madison Ontjes drilled a trio of 3-pointers. Sophie Mader scored 18 points, dominated the second half and blocked several shots.
The Cardinals (8-7, 3-2 CKL) were paced by Emma Harmon with 18 points ands Kat Warnken added eight points. The Panthers swung the defensive momentum when Ontjes expertly denied Harmon in a box-and-one defense after a hot first quarter.
“We played zone and they hit some big shots,” said Hoisington coach Mandy Mason. “We tried to mix it up and it didn’t matter what we were running. They still hit shots.”

NICKERSON 54, HOISINGTON 51
NICKERSON – Braden Stewart scored 16 second-half points and made two free throws to help Nickerson escape with a 54-51 Central Kansas League victory over Hoisington.
Stewart was assessed with a technical foul after his free throws and Brenner Donovan converted one free throw and he missed a game-tying 3-point attempt. The Cardinals led 45-41 when Austin O’Toole and Austin Engelland hit back-to-back 3-pointers. The Panthers scored their final seven points at the free throw line.
Hoisington (6-8, 2-3 CKL) was led by Brenner Donovan with 23 points and Alex Schremmer added nine points. The Cardinals play at rival Larned Tuesday.
