Kreed Parr had six assists. Waters had four steals and Kody Mead grabbed 10 rebounds. Macksville (8-2) plays St. John in Friday’s 8:15 p.m. semifinals.
Ness City (8-3) was led by Landon Reinhardt with 12 points. The Mustangs’ defense held John Pfannenstiel to 3 of 19 field goal shooting.

LACROSSE GIRLS 32, HOISINGTON 27 — LaCrosse’s MaKenzie Braun converted a trio of 3-pointers and scored 21 points in a 32-27 victory over Hoisington in the Cardinal Winter Jam. LaCrosse outscored the Cardinals 12-7 in the decisive second period. Emma Rues hit a 3-pointer for a 28-24 lead.

HOISINGTON BOYS 54, RUSSELL 46 — Hoisington’s Drew Nicholson scored 23 points to spark the Cardinals past Russell 54-46 in the Cardinal Winter Jam Tournament. The Cardinals led 35-19 before Russell rallied. The Cardinals converted 13 free throws in the fourth quarter.
Nicholson drilled a trio of first-quarter 3-pointers for 15 first-half points. Kyle Haxton scored 16 points. The Cardinals (3-7) play Otis-Bison in Friday’s semifinals. Russell’s Tyler Whipple scored 26 points.
