BUSHTON — Quivira Heights led after the first half, 37-35, but Hoisington scored 49 in the second half to claim victory on Friday night.
It turned into a shoot-out between Cardinals post player Cody Stetler, who rang up 30 points, and Thunderbirds guard Taylor Siemsen, who scored 29 points, including four 3-pointers.
Gunner Phelan added 21 points for the T-birds, ranked No. 10 in Class 1A Division-II.

MACKSVILLE — Macksville broke out to a 57-33 lead after three quarters to weather Victoria’s 20-point fourth period in the Mustangs victory on Friday night.
Macksville, which is ranked No. 3 in Class 1A Division-I, was led by Kyle Bunker, who scored 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Adolfo Ibarra was the only other Mustangs player to match Bunker’s rebound total with seven.
