Class 3A sub-state
LAKIN — Not only are both Hoisington High School and Larned in the Class 3A sub-state volleyball tournament, but they are slated to face each other in the opening round.
The Cardinals finished with a record of 29-5, good enough to enter the tournament as the No. 2 seed behind Southwestern Heights of Kismet.
Larned (7-29) is the No. 7 seed.
Class 2A sub-state
GREENSBURG — The Ellinwood volleyball team, which is 22-13 overall this season, will be entering the Class 2A sub-state volleyball tournament as the No. 4 seed on Saturday.
The Lady Eagles will be matched against Cimarron, 23-14.
Class 1A sub-state
COLDWATER — St. John gets a first round bye in the Class 1A sub-state volleyball tournament on Saturday, finishing the season with a 33-4 record and ranked No. 1 in the state.
Macksville was placed into the tournament as a No. 4 seed and will face Ashland in their first match. Macksville finished with a record of 15-16 while Ashland finished 4-28.
