Burley puts lid on prep pole-vault career

WICHITA — During a record-setting career at Great Bend High School, senior Chris Burley broke his own school record in the pole vault four times, capped by a 15 feet, six-inch effort.
A two-time state champion in wrestling, Great Bend’s “Little Big Man,” at 5-foot-8 and 130 pounds, finished in third place at 14-6 on Friday afternoon during the Class 5A state track and field championships at Cessna Stadium.
