Cardinals defeat Bearcats 70-12 in dual

ELLSWORTH — The Hoisington High School wrestling team seized a 70-12 victory over the Ellsworth Bearcats in a dual on Thursday night.
Brandon Ball, who is ranked No. 1 Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association rankings for the Class 3-1A 126-pound weight class, wrestled at 132 and defeated Marshall Barkow 10-0.
Darwin Brickley (285) was the only other Cardinals wrestler who went to points, winning 5-0 over Zach Gustus.
Cody Lang (106), Zach Sanders (152) and Chris Crawford (170) all won by fall in their matches.
The Cardinals saw their team drop from No. 1 to No. 2, despite winning the Osborne tournament this past weekend.
Hoisington hosts the Cardinals Corner Classic on Friday, Dec. 14.
The tournament boasts several programs from 4A and 5A, and will start at 3 p.m. at the Hoisington Activity Center.
