Central Plains boys, girls are top seeds
Central Plains Oilers

The No. 1 ranked Central Plains boys (20-0) and No. 1 ranked Central Plains girls (20-0) are top-seeded in the St. John Class 2A basketball substate next week. The Oiler boys meet Medicine Lodge (10-10) Tuesday at Claflin. The Oiler girls play Ellinwood (3-16) at Claflin Monday.
The Oiler girls have won the last two Class 2A state titles. The Oiler boys lost 48-44 to St. John in last year's Class 2A state final. The Oilers have handed St. John (16-3) all three losses this season. The Tigers have won three consecutive boys state basketball titles.
In Class 3A at Lakin, the Larned boys (13-7) are seeded third behind Scott City (15-5) and Sterling (15-5). Larned plays SW Heights (10-9) at home Monday. Larned's girls (4-16) plays at No. 2 ranked Sterling (19-1) Tuesday.
The Hoisington girls (14-6) are seeded third and plays Norton (11-9) at home Tuesday the Norton Class 3A substate. The Hoisington boys (8-12) play at Beloit (14-6) Monday.
The Pawnee Heights boys and girls play at the Burrton Class 1A -Div. 2 substate. The Otis-Bison boys and girls compete at the Kinsley Class 1A-Div. 1 substate.
