EMPORIA – The third time was the charm for Olathe Heritage Christian. Olathe Heritage defeated defending Class 2A state volleyball champion Central Plains 25-12, 25-15 to capture the 2A title Saturday. Central Plains finishes with a 40-3 record under coach Lisa Crites one year after a perfect 43-0 record last season.

Central Plains setter Cassidy Crites was chosen Class 2A all-tournament for the third time and Kylee Kasselman was chosen for the second time. 
Central Plains defeated Olathe Heritage 25-20, 25-22 in pool play Friday. The Oilers also defeated Olathe Heritage in last year’s state championship match. Olathe Heritage is coached by Erin Patrick, a former coach at Otis-Bison and Hutchinson Central Christian.
The Oilers downed Belleville-Republic County 25-18, 25-11 and Olathe Heritage beat Rosalia-Flinthills 25-20, 25-20 in the semifinals.
