Larned to take on Kingman after two close games

Kingman (2-0) at Larned (1-1)
Larned High School’s football team is returning home after their second straight close game last week on the road at La Crosse.
The Indians captured Game 1 of the season against Hoisington at home in double overtime, a 21-20 victory.
La Crosse pulled ahead just 48 seconds before the game ended on a one-yard touchdown run. The Leopards won 14-7.
The Indians may have their work cut out for them tonight as they take on Kingman.
Not only has Kingman started the season with a 2-0 mark, but it has yet to allow a point.
Kingman defeated Nickerson 20-0, and Lyons 13-0.
 
Pratt (2-0) at Hoisington (1-1)
Hoisington is coming off their first win of the season, a 7-0 home win over Nickerson.
It was the second close game for Hoisington, after the one-point, double-overtime loss to Larned.
Hunter Hanzlick came up big for the Cardinals against Nickerson, scoring on a 7-yard touchdown run in the second quarter.
Pratt will look to continue its success, having beat Lyons 13-3 and Plainville 35-0 to open the season.
 
Central Plains (2-0) at Macksville (0-2)
Central Plains is on a roll.
The Oilers have scored 104 points in two games, blowing two teams away.
They did it using two different parts of their offense.
In Game 1, quarterback Braedan Crites completed 14 passes for 219 yards and three touchdowns, dominating  Victoria 42-24.
In Game 2, Central Plains rushed for 150 yards and five touchdowns.
Macksville, however, has been struggling.
The Mustangs have lost both games thus far this season, only managing to score six points.
Macksville lost 56-6 against Otis-Bison in Week 1, and 62-0 against Ness City in Week 2.
 
Ness City (2-0) at Otis-Bison (2-0)
It’s still early on in the season, but both teams are bringing lossless records to the table tonight.
Ness City has only allowed six points in two games, beating Kinsley 44-6 in Week 1.
The Eagles defeated Macksville 62-0.
Meanwhile, Otis-Bison also have a win against Macksville, a 56-6 beating in Week 1.
Then the Cougars narrowly escaped St. John-Hudson 46-44.
 
St. John-Hudson (0-2) at Victoria (1-1)
St. John is still looking to get its first win of the season, though it came close last week.
The Tigers are coming off a 46-44 loss against Otis-Bison.
Victoria and St. John have a common opponent already. Both have challenged Ellinwood.
St. John came away with a 40-20 loss. The Knights came away with a 62-8 victory.
Victoria also has a loss, a 42-24 setback against Central Plains in Week 1.
 
Ellinwood (1-1) at Kinsley (0-2)
Ellinwood has its first chance to at least tie its best record since 2009.
The Eagles challenge the winless Kinsley Coyotes tonight.
Ellinwood opened the season with a 40-20 victory at home against St. John.
The Eagles had a little more trouble on the road. Ellinwood went to Victoria and left with a 62-8 loss.
Now, they are on the road again and looking for a better result.
 
Hutchinson Central Christian (0-2) at Stafford (2-0)
Stafford is off to a strong start, thanks to a strong ground game led by Ethan Johnson.
Johnson has rushed for 451 yards and seven touchdowns in just two games.
Stafford defeated Pretty Prairie 34-26, and Burrton 44-6.
Central Christian lost to Canton-Galva 62-16, and to Norwich 8-6.
