Dodge City sweeps Panthers

DODGE CITY — Dodge City’s girls handed Great Bend its first Western Athletic League loss 55-35 and Dodge City’s boys completed a sweep with a 50-36 victory over the Panther boys.
Dodge City dominated every statistic. The Red Demons outrebounded the Panthers 40-20, shot 50 percent on 23 of 46 field goals and scored 21 points off Great Bend turnovers.
The Panthers managed 9 of 40 field goals. The Panthers scored 18 of their 35 points on 3-pointers.
Dodge City (4-4, 2-0 WAC) led 17-4 after one quarter and 30-15 at halftime. The Panthers made 2 of 17 field goals.
Jessie Harshberger scored15 points and Tia Bradshaw added. Regan Unruh led Great Bend (5-4, 2-1 WAC) scored 13 points and Lauren Welsch added eight.

Bryce Unruh scored 24 points to spark Dodge City past Great Bend a 50-36 WAC victory.
Noah Williams recorded a double-double for the Red Demons (4-4, 1-1) with 16 points and 13 rebounds.
Dodge City made 15 of 30 field goals and 19 of 28 free throws. The Red Demons outscored the Panthers 19-6 from the free throw line.
After a 16-16 halftime tie, Dodge City outscored the Panthers 12-2 for a 28-18 lead.
Kody Crosby scored 16 points to lead Great Bend. Shade Wondra added eight points.
