BELOIT — Logan-Palco’s David Thompson and West Elk’s Cade Miller each accounted for three touchdowns to spark the East past the West 58-6 in Saturday’s Eight-Man 1 All-Star Football Game.
Central Plains Oiler Alex Barton had 68 yards receiving and 10 yards rushing. Central Plains Oiler Dalton Beck and Macksville’s Jacob Rein and Kreed Parr also competed. Macksville’s Chet Skinner served as the West’s head coach.
Thompson scored on a 6-yard TD after Miller completed a 52-yard TD strike to Solomon’s Jacob Burdine for a 6-0 lead. Thompson converted a 13-yard rushing TD for a 12-0 lead. An interception by Logan-Palco’s Riley Allen set up Miller’s 36-yard TD run. Bennington’s J.J. Allen caught the 2-point pass for a 20-0 lead. Burlingame’s Tristan Lee sacked Green for a safety for a 22-0 lead.
Thompson scored on a 12-yard run and added the 2-pointer for a 30-0 lead. Osborne’s Denton Schurr converted a 3-yard TD and the 2-pointer for a 38-0 halftime lead.
The West’s Chris Cox of Hoxie scored on a 2-yard TD to cap a 65-yard scoring drive.
Miller responded with a 65-yard touchdown and added a 2-point pass to Allen for a 46-6 lead. Miller hit Allen on a 1-yard TD pass for a 52-6 lead.
St. Paul’s Braven Born converted a 20-yard scoring pass to Burlingame’s Colton Noonan for a record 52-point win. The West leads the all-time series 10-8.
