HILL CITY — Ellinwood High School’s cross-country teams swept a Class 2A regional meet on Saturday afternoon.
Both teams qualified for the state meet, which will be held on Saturday at Wamego Country Club in Wamego.
The defending 2A state champion Eagles finished with 29 points to run away with first place, topping second-place Ness City (60) and third-place Lincoln (76).
Pedro Montoya kept his win streak alive with a first-place time of 16 minutes, 38 seconds.
The Lady Eagles finished with 65 points, edging second-place Oberlin-Decatur (79) and third-place Ness City (83).
Jenna Snell finished second overall, crossing the finish line at 16:15.
