LINCOLN — Ellinwood rallied for a split of Tuesday’s softball doubleheader after losing 13-5 to Lincoln in the opener.
LINCOLN 13, ELLINWOOD 5 (game 1) — Ellinwood’s Teigan Torres ripped a two-run homer and Lauren Petz added a home run in the Eagles’ 13-5 loss.
Torres followed a hit-by-pitch on Elaina Hernandez for a two-run third inning homer. Kaitlyn Pohlman’s triple drove home Vanessa Aguliera after a single. Hernandez singled home Pohlman in a two-run fourth inning. Petz’ fifth-inning homer rounded out the Eagles’ scoring.
Ellinwood pitcher Torres struck out seven batters, but was tagged for 13 hits and seven earned runs. Lincoln’s Brecken Obermueller and Kenzie Romesburg each drove in three runs. Romesburg doubled twice and tripled.
